Thirteen cadets. One deadly trial. And a single rule that could mean the difference between becoming a dragon rider and never leaving the battlefield alive.

Welcome to Basgiath War College.

Where weakness can get you killed.

Where loyalty is tested.

And where the dragons decide who is worthy of riding them.

For the cadets determined to become dragon riders, there's one day that could change everything.

Threshing Day.

The most dangerous trial of their lives.

A brutal, unforgiving test where aspiring riders must face powerful dragons and compete for the chance to form a bond that will define their futures.

But dragons don't choose everyone.

And those who aren't chosen may not survive.

With danger lurking around every corner, alliances are fragile, rivalries turn deadly, and every decision carries the possibility of disaster.

Because at Basgiath, it's not enough to be brave.

You have to be clever.

Ruthless.

And willing to risk everything.

Thirteen familiar faces. Thirteen different paths. One unforgettable day.

Xaden Riorson, the powerful leader whose strength and determination command attention.

Rhiannon Matthias, the clever and loyal friend who knows survival requires more than courage.

Dain Aetos, the dutiful rule-follower who believes in order and responsibility.

Liam Mairi, the kindhearted protector whose loyalty runs deep.

Ridoc Gamlyn, the quick-witted jokester who finds humor even in the darkest moments.

Sawyer Henrick, the underdog determined to prove he belongs.

Garrick Tavis, the dependable ally who stands beside those he trusts.

Imogen Cardulo, the impulsive fighter who refuses to back down.

Bodhi Durran, the steadfast second-in-command.

Mira Sorrengail, the fearless rider who knows exactly how dangerous this world can be.

Brennan Sorrengail, the brilliant tactician who understands the power of strategy.

Aaric Graycastle, the restless royal searching for a path of his own.

And Sloane Mairi, the determined sister with something to prove.

Each carries their own ambitions.

Their own fears.

And their own reasons for facing the impossible.

But when dragons take to the skies, titles, reputations, and carefully made plans mean nothing.

The competition is fierce.

The stakes are deadly.

And desperation can turn even a fellow cadet into an enemy.

Some will find the courage to face their fears.

Some will discover that survival demands impossible choices.

And some may never make it off the field.

Because on Threshing Day, the dragons have the final say.

One moment can forge an unbreakable bond.

One decision can change a life forever.

And one mistake can end everything.

A dragon doesn't care who you are, where you come from, or what you've sacrificed to get here.

It only matters whether you're worthy.

And whether you survive long enough to find out.
